Q + A

Did you receive my RSVP?

We appreciate your concern about if we have received your RSVP! If we have not received your RSVP by the requested date, we will reach out to you. If you do not hear from the hosts, you can be confident we received your RSVP. If you accepted your invitation to the wedding and can no longer attend, please notify Emily Fly at 806.333.2175 no later than two weeks before the event. We completely understand plans change, we would just like to plan accordingly!

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

We want every guest to have a meal they can enjoy! If you have a food allergy, please contact Emily Fly at emilyfly@xit.net or text or call 806.333.2175, so we can accommodate you.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

The church doors will open at 4:00 P.M. Please do not arrive any later than 4:15 P.M. so you may be seated before the ceremony begins.

Do I need to arrange transportation from the ceremony to the reception?

The Amarillo Country Club is a 10 to 15 minute drive from Polk Street Methodist Church. Both locations have ample parking space, so you are welcome to bring a vehicle to transport yourself to each location. The Amarillo Country Club will allow guests to leave a vehicle overnight should they be unable to drive home. They close their main entrance gates at night and reopen them when the club opens the next day.

What should I wear?

It is the wish of the couple that you feel confident and comfortable in your wedding guest attire. If you are needing a little guidance on what to wear, based on the location and time, the most appropriate attire is likely Texas formal. Texas formal is very similar to semi-formal with a little more freedom for personality. This offers the opportunity for a variety of styles for ladies and gentlemen. Gentlemen can range from khakis and a jacket to a matching suit with or without tie. Ladies can wear anything from a dressier fabric and shorter hem length all the way to your best dress! The Texas portion of this dress code tells you not to shy away from color or western accents if you choose. Boots and/or hats are welcome at the reception, because as every cowboy knows, you do not wear your hat in church ;)
